Abby’s love of hair design was born out of childhood weekends when she accompanied her grandmother to the local beauty salon where her white roots magically transformed to fiery red before her eyes. Her grandmother’s flamboyant style left an indelible mark on Abby and still serves as a great inspiration today.
She completed apprenticeships in Chicago at both Art & Science Salon and Sassoon. Abby spent time at Sassoon in Seattle before returning to Chicago to join the Smith & Davis team in 2014.
After 4 years at Smith & Davis, Abby pursued her other passion - pastry. She attended the French Pastry School in Chicago and eventually went on to work for renowned chef Rick Bayless at Frontera Grill and Topolobampo.
Abby returned to Smith & Davis late 2022! Her passion lies in helping clients explore and develop their personal aesthetic. She loves the collaborative challenge of finding the tones that best suit each individual. Abby believes that hair should be a fun expression of who you are. Your hair is the accessory you wear everyday and it is Abby’s mission to make sure her clients all have a smile on their face when they look in the mirror. She specializes in bleach & tones, redheads, grey coverage/blending & creative color.
