Michael started cutting hair in college and never stopped! Upon receiving his degree Michael was accepted into Vidal Sassoon’s prestigious and rigorous training program. It was there that he honed his craft and mastered the art of precision haircutting. His passion and dedication ultimately led to his being promoted to Creative Director for Sassoon's Chicago salon. He has taught at both the UK and US Sassoon academies and has traveled from Europe to Asia sharing his knowledge and experience with his contemporaries. With over a decade behind him at Vidal, Michael joined fellow Sassoon x-pats at Gro where he spent 10 years. In addition to teaching and training future staff Michael has worked with fellow salon owners helping to design their own individual curricula. As well as working as a platform artist he enjoys working on photo shoots, videos and personally mentoring those who wish to advance their craft of precision haircutting.
Michael's passion for hairdressing is equaled by his passion for people. He believes that suitability is the most important factor in what makes a haircut special. To that end, he is committed to engaging in a genuine dialogue with the client to determine their needs and desires in terms of form and function. His outgoing personality, attention to detail and comprehensive understanding of technique keep Michael in demand as a stylist and educator.
